E-Freight
E-Freight is a Windows-based operating system designed to service international freight forwarders. Since 1993, E-Freight has been dedicated to developing software applications to serve the international transportation and freight forwardering community. The system has been successfully deployed at forwarding companies of all shapes and sizes throughout the world.
In June 1999, after many years of commitment and deliberation, E-Freight transitioned from client-server technology to that of an Application Service Provider (ASP) model. Using the latest technologies, E-Freight now offers services such as US Customs Filing Automation, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and various other business-to-business (B2B) services. Today, E-Freight continues to be a leading provider of software in the logistics industry with a broad range of products and solutions.
E-Freight’s unique implementation methods allow for the deployment of "Hybrid Solutions". Regardless of the size, platform, or network set-up, E-Freight designs solutions to meet your needs. Customers have the choice of either operating via the Internet, a wide area network (WAN) or even in a distributed fashion - in their own local area network (LAN) - to prepare shipping documents or to communicate with the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (e.g. Filing AMS & AES). Data integration functionalities are usually built into the applications to simplify the process. Customers need only to click a button to perform these functions.
In addition to providing integrated systems, E-Freight also designs applications with a "Total Integrated Solutions" in mind. For example, most software products only provide the basic functions of operations management. Today’s “global” forwarder, such as Summit Logistics International, not only requires the operations management functionalities, but also utilizes E-Freight as an integrated accounting system. This allows customers more consistent and accurate billing for all the services they utilize with Summit.
